Delete your account
This page is for the game 44 Boots, published by Jim Tench. Use it to have
your account, your club and everything attached to them removed.
What to do
- Enter the email address you registered with, below, and press Request deletion.
- You will get an acknowledgement by email straight away.
- Within 30 days the account is deleted by hand and you get one final email confirming it.
Usually it is the same day.
You can also just email privacy@44boots.com from the
registered address - same result. Either way there is no charge, and nobody will try to talk you out of it.
What is deleted
- Your account: email address, the name you asked to be called, your password hash,
your country and your sign-in tokens.
- Your club as yours: it is handed back to the computer under a new name, so the
league it plays in keeps its shape for everyone else.
- Everything you wrote: forum posts, messages between managers, and the notes on your planner.
- Crash reports sent from your devices, and the temporary records of your head-to-head matches.
- Email records: which reminder emails you were sent, and your unsubscribe setting.
What is kept, and for how long
- Match results and league tables. The scores stay in the league's history because
other people's seasons depend on them, but nothing in them identifies you once the club
is renamed and your account is gone.
- Backups. The database is backed up nightly and the last 14 are kept, so a copy
of your data can exist in a backup for up to 14 days after deletion. Backups are never restored
except to recover from a disaster, and if that ever happened your deletion would be re-applied.
- Web server logs containing your IP address are kept for 14 days and then deleted,
whether or not you ask.
